Does Brady's Landing offer detox or medical treatment?

On the recommended continuum of care for substance abuse treatment, Brady’s Landing falls under the category of “aftercare” which does not include medical treatment.  We provide transitional housing for women and a program of support for those who have recently completed detox or rehab, or who need more time to strengthen their recovery program before transitioning back to their home environment.

Do you have treatment providers that you can recommend?

Absolutely!  We have a wealth of referral resources available – not only for our clients but for anyone who calls and needs help.  We work with several facilities that provide outpatient, inpatient, detox, and even other sober living homes.  This is to ensure the client gets the right treatment for their stage of addiction recovery. 

What is Sober Living and Why is it so Highly Recommended?

Moving into a sober home after treatment is a critical stage of the addiction treatment continuum of care.  Communing and connecting with others in recovery has been shown to substantially decrease the potential for relapse.  If you go to the hospital and have major surgery, you don’t leave the next day and resume your daily activities.  You have to let your body heal and slowly re-build your strength.  It’s the same in sobriety.  You don’t leave treatment and go straight home – you need a transition period to slowly help you adjust to life without drugs or alcohol.  That’s what sober living does.

I have IOP (intensive outpatient) services to attend during the day. how does that work?

Most of our clients have recently completed residential, inpatient treatment, and are transitioning to IOP.  In this phase, clients continue to participate in group and individual therapy at a participating facility during the day – on an “outpatient” basis.  This is generally a requirement of your Aftercare Plan as established by your Case Manager.  We help facilitate  transportation to ensure continued attendance with outpatient services often providing transportation either to or from depending on availability of the House Manager.  If you need to set up IOP or need a referral, we can take care of that for you as well.

What is a Recovery Coach?

Recovery Coaches assist those new in sobriety by teaching and reinforcing new, healthier behaviors.  They act as a sounding board – someone who is constantly focused on what is best for the client.  They accompany the client to appointments and recovery-related activities and help keep the client on track when encountering potential “triggers”.  They are available for calls, texts, emails, etc. when clients are experiencing cravings, urges and/or crises.  They employ different tactics with each client which may include motivational interviewing and other support strategies.

Confidentiality is important to me. How do you protect your clients' anonymity?

Many of our clients require a higher level of confidentiality and discretion.  We take specific measures to protect the identity of all guests.  Further, the residences at Brady’s Landing are tucked away off a private driveway and cannot be seen from any public street.  Our address is unpublished and we require that all clients and staff sign a strict non-disclosure agreement.

Can you explain "high end sober home for women"?

We are not just a place to “hang your hat” – we are a close-knit family. With only six clients at a time, we can focus on each client’s individual needs and offer peer support for their level of recovery.  We have group activities, house meetings, walks to the beach, evening group check-ins, and we are surrounded by beautiful scenery and breathtaking views of the water.  In addition, there are holistic practices available such as yoga, acupuncture, and guided meditation.  We say “for women” because clients need to know that they will be living with a group of like minded women who share similar life circumstances.
